Human Rights and Economic Growth

Who’s behind it? – The Danish Institute for Human Rights (2017)

How can it help? – This report by the Danish Institute of Human Rights represents a detailed econometric analysis with a view to answering the question of whether human rights have an effect on economic growth. Focusing pricipally on an historical analysis of how respect for freedom and participation rights has contributed to enhanced economic activity in a range of geographies, the report finds a strong causal relationship between respect for human rights and long-term economic growth.
