Who’s behind it? – International Bar Association (2016)

How can it help? – This ground-breaking guidance, endorsed by the International Bar Association (IBA), provides guidance for business lawyers on how to practice law with respect for human rights. It offers a summary of the background and content of the UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs) on Business & Human Rights and explores their relevance, and the opportunities and challenges they present for lawyers. Author of the UNGPs John Ruggie has referred to this guidance as a “hugely important step for respecting human rights worldwide, given the influence many lawyers have with Boards and CEOs.”
